Freshwater pearl and Swarovski crystal necklace

Yesterday Gallery at 12 held it's first ever charity day.
'Art With A Heart' in aid of The County Air Ambulance and Katherine House Hospice. We enjoyed a very successful day and we are already planning our next event!

Most of the member artists provided a prize as did the gallery - offering a gift voucher to put towards anything in the gallery.
This Freshwater pearl and Swarovski crystal necklace was made specially for the raffle.

The raffle was drawn at the end of the day and winners will be notified tomorrow, I hope this will be well recieved by it's winner

Beaded Christmas cards

Recently I have been busy threading beads onto fine wire and attaching them to cards to create individual beaded Christmas cards - each one is different even if I have based it on a similar style or design.
Here is a selection.

All of these cards and others are now in Gallery at 12 in time for our heart with a heart charity day on December 8th

Fishy earrings

These wonderful glass fish beads make great earrings, they are a bead I return to time and time again. So when I saw them sat in one of my bead boxes I decided it was time to make up some more earrings. I have had my own pair of fishy earrings for several years now and I have to say they amongst some of my absolute favourites as they go with so many colours and are such fun!

Venetian heart necklaces

You can't go wrong with Venetian glass - It is something I keep going back to, such beautiful colours and of course such high quality glass beads.

Here are three Venetian glass hearts I have combined with Swarovski crystals to make a simple yet stylish drop to hang on a silver plate snake chain. I have also made earrings to compliment the three necklaces.

A touch of shamballa sparkle for Christmas

Two new necklaces made this weekend.

I don't have any more of these Shamballa beads, so never to be repeated in any way - both of these have been made using one Shamballa bead and Swarovski crystals, then hung on 16 inch silver plate snake chains and would be perfect to add a bit of sparkle to your Christmas party dress.

Knitted fish!

When the Staffordshire Artists Co-operative set up Gallery at 12 some of my fellow member artists encouraged me to expand my knitted jewellery repertoire and may be knit some other items as well as jewellery. At that time I had some knitted crowns, tiaras, chokers and bracelets and one masque. Since then I have increased my range, knitting flowers for bouquets and brooches and adding to my masque collection too, but it wasn't until this summer that I started to play around with some other ideas I have been developing in my mind since may 2009 . These fish are some of the items I came up with.
Four wire hand knitted fish

two hand knitted fish with silver coloured wire

Why have I waited until now to show these? Well in truth I hadn't decided what to do with them, they have been lying in a dish in my work room for a good four months - then, last night on twitter I gained a new follower John Binet Fauvel. when I read on his bio that he knits wire sculptures on knitting frames I had to take a look. Some absolutely amazing and inspiring work met my eyes, and it reminded me of my fish. I still have to work out what to do with them i.e. how to display them , but I thought I would share them on here as a start and may be they will be on display elsewhere soon along with a few other items I have as unfinished pieces at the moment.

Jewellery for an October wedding

This multi-stranded freshwater pearl and Swarovski crystal necklace and matching earrings was commissioned by a mother of the bride for her daughters October wedding.

I made three pairs of earrings so I could offer a choice, all three were loved and two of them were finally chosen one for the wedding and the other for the reception.
