knitted wire and obsidian bracelet

I have been fairly quiet on here recently, that doesn't mean to say I have not been making - My exhibition in Gallery at 12 is going very well and keeping me very busy, I have had to make up several replacement items to fill up gaps, these aren't identical pieces to the items sold, but may be not different enough for me to write a blog post, I have also had quite a few re-stringings come in over the last week too, not originally my jewellery I hasten to add, but as they aren't my designs or my jewellery I cannot use those for a blog post either.
Today, though, I went upstairs to start work again and decided that my desk was getting far to untidy, so I started clearing it, which meant, putting away bags of beads, throwing out pieces of wire and old threads that hadn't quite made it to the bin and finishing off a couple of pieces of jewellery, which had been left mid project, including this knitted black wire with snowflake obsidian and glass bead bracelet. All that it required was the clasp to be attached, which I duly did. and hey presto, another knitted bracelet, ready to fill a gap in my exhibition, should it be needed!

The earrings measure approximately 2 3/4 inches from the top of the black plate ear hooks, the bracelet measures 8 inches which has a black plate clasp

Black glass bead wire wrapped bracelet

Today I tried something new, this is an idea that had been developing in my head over the past week and I finally had a go at working on it for this weeks 'Monday's Make'. This bracelet has been made with silver plate wire and black  glass cube beads - I am happy with the end result but if I make any more I will be adapting the design slightly as I am already thinking about ways I can improve it!

I am therefore happy to make others in any colour although the design won't be quite the same

Black and white glass bead bracelet

Whenever I see black and white outfits and jewellery I think of the Ascot scene in 'My Fair Lady' so I have named this bracelet 'Eliza'
I made this bracelet earlier today, using black and white glass beads, due to the design of this bracelet it has turned out to be quite a long length, 9 inches, and so it wouldn't be suitable for a tiny, delicate wrist, although as the bracelet is made on two strands it does provide the option of attaching the clasp into the first loop of beads, so it can sit tighter than designed to if needed.

Precious beads

Do you have materials in your craft rooms, studios you like too much to use so you stash them away? I find myself very guilty of doing this, usually with beads and especially if my supplier stops stocking them, as I know I won't easily find them again so I become very reluctant to use them and the beads become very precious.
This morning I found a stash of my precious beads, these are turquoise glass chips, I decided that they cannot hoarded them forever - they need to made into something beautiful so others can appreciate them too! So I took the plunge and made up these four items of jewellery. I used fine silver plate chain to create these delicate pieces.

the complete set, necklace, bracelet and earrings
I still have some of these beads left but not quite as many as I did yesterday!
