My halo inspired tiara

Wasn't it just the most perfect wedding, everything from the dress, to the bridesmaids and page boys to the music and even the TV coverage. It was just totally captivating and I enjoyed every moment of it even though, as a hopeless romantic, I managed to get through 5 tissues during the course of the day! I am of course talking about William and Kate's or more formally The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding.

I am not a great fan of copy cat weddings, so when I initially heard about the wedding I was more than a little concerned that this would probably define weddings for several years to come and brides would be demanding outrageous dresses as a consequence, but when Kate arrived at Westminster Abbey and her dress was revealed, all my fears evaporated. If this is going to influence brides in their choice of dress then it will bring back much needed style and elegance and long may it stay!
And the icing on the cake for me -  to see the Duchess of Cambridge wearing the most beautiful understated tiara -
The Cartier Halo Tiara  it complimented the dress perfectly!

And of course it then sent my mind racing!
So after a week of planning in my mind, I finally started working on the tiara ,after several hours working with wire and tiny rocaille glass beads, here is my finished 'halo' inspired tiara.

Ok! so I have knitted it -  it wouldn't have felt right making it any other way!
I am so thrilled with this, it has been a delight to make despite the raw fingers, I hope you like it as much as I do.
It will be on view in  Gallery at 12 hopefully by the end of the week.
