This necklace and earring set is made with iridescent faceted purple glass beads and Swarovski crystals I made it with proms in mind and think it would look lovely with a purple prom dress!

Now for something totally different - Wire work

Sometimes I just have to take a break from making jewellery - it gives me a chance to try something else - and this time I continued my work with wire but using it to make more rigid forms than I have done in the past - bottles, glasses and bowls

Freshwater pearls with Swarovski crystals

A special necklace was commissioned last week as a gift. the commission came through Gallery at 12 in Eccleshall and as I didn't have the opportunity to meet the client in person to discuss the design in detail, I made a selection of necklaces. Yesterday my client returned to the gallery and selected one of the necklaces - these are the remaining necklaces which I have now placed in my cabinets in Gallery at 12

What was the first item of jewellery ever bought for you?

Jewellery boxes are full of precious memories! I don't wear any of my old jewellery anymore, but there is no way I could part with any of  it, and every so often I go back to it and reminisce, most of the items were given to me by family and friends in my younger years so are all special to me, this necklace though was the very first piece of jewellery I remember being bought for me, it was given to me by my Nan, over 40 years ago-  I couldn't have been much older than 8 or 9 and she took me shopping. We were in Debenhams, I think, and she let me choose a necklace, I chose this! ......... warning major bling alert!!!!!!!!

Absolutely nothing like the jewellery I am now making, but it just goes to show how much I loved colour and sparkle even then.

Pale blue on white - A pretty ceramic bead necklace earring set for the summer

I am not afraid of mixing quality beads such as Swarovski crystal pearls with other beads if I consider them necessary as with this pretty necklace earring set - the focal bead being a white and pale blue ceramic bead. I also selected some matching opaque pale blue and white tiny glass beads, The necklace measures approximately 16 inches and has a silver plate clasp and the earrings have silver plate earhooks

Turquoise bead necklace and earring set - ideal summer jewellery

I have made this set using a mixture of turquoise coloured beads including Swarovski crystals to add some summer sparkle. I have crimped  the beads onto nylon coated wire to make the necklace and attached a silver plate clasp. The matching long earrings are hanging from silver plate ear hooks.

Jewellery making workshop in Eccleshall

This afternoon I held a jewellery making workshop at the Corner Patch, Eccleshall.
It was a hot session, but that didn't prevent those attending the workshop making some fabulous items of jewellery.

A snap shot of my jewellery in Gallery at 12

I have been a member of the Staffordshire Artists Cooperative since it first set up, the very first meeting was held in my old old workshop, the Co-operative's aim was to open a Gallery to showcase, display and hopefully sell our work. Within 4 months of our first meeting we opened Gallery at 12  which has been open now for over 5 years.
I thought it was about time I showed a few pictures of my jewellery from one of my cabinets in the Gallery, so on Thursday this week, my cabinets looked like this.

A pale pink and crystal bracelet full of sparkle

Another new make for this week - I couldn't resist making this sparkly bracelet.
I have made this bracelet with pale pink and crystal faceted glass rondelles beads, finished off with a silver plate clasp.

pale amethyst ceramic bead - great for a summer day

New make for today - this pretty necklace, earring set. The feature bead is a pale cream and amethyst ceramic bead, I have added Swarovski crystals and tiny glass beads to make this simple set. The necklace is on a fine silver plate chain and I have added a silver plate stick to the earring for added length and have silver plate ear hooks.
